My name is Brian Miller, and I am the founder of The Freshmen 50.  I am also a candidate for U.S. Congress, a Major in the USAF Reserve, and an A-10 Fighter Pilot.  I know what it takes to stand, lead, and get things done, and I encourage you to learn more at www.BrianMillerForCongress.com 

In early 2009, in the wake of over $5 Trillion of government spending, many thousands of pages of new law which could neither have been read nor comprehended, and the increasing likelihood that we were witnessing merely the beginnings of unparalleled expansion and concentration of federal government power, I, like many Americans, was dismayed that our elected representatives - from both sides of the aisle - were betraying our trust.

While I weighed a run for Congressional office, I realized that it was not enough for me to supplant just one irresponsible representative.  It became clear to me that we needed an objective, concerted, and focused effort to literally save our system of government and way of life from an ideology bent on accumulation of power.  So the question became:  “what is the surest way to stop, and ultimately reverse this trend?” 

In response, I developed the concept of The Freshmen 50.  I shared the idea with family, friends, and associates around the country who share my desire for responsible government worthy of free and dignified people.  As the idea circulated, the feedback continued to be very positive.  I announced creation of The Freshmen 50 on The Dennis Miller Show in mid June, and the response has been very encouraging.  Citizens and candidates from around the country have donated money, offered help, and are excited about the great potential.

So here we are - with a lot of potential.

This is where you come in.  Your support is an investment in proper government.  And if that’s not reason enough, consider how much you currently pay in taxes – income tax, capital gains tax, gas tax, tobacco tax, death tax ... and the list goes on.  Then picture how pleased politicians are when they vote for a thousand-page bill, which reassigns your money to a thousand pet projects for the sole purpose of getting re-elected.  Those are tax dollars taken from more than one third - for some, more than one half - of your time and your labor. 

But we need more than financial support.  It is imperative that you spread the word.  Tell family, friends, co-workers, clients, associates.  Phone, email, blog, text, and tweet #F5o.  Every American who recognizes that we live in the last and greatest bastion of human freedom on earth should support this effort.  This is a nation-wide endeavor, and the results – win or lose – will be felt by the entire nation.

The time for talking is over.  It is time to act, and it is time to invest in men and women of integrity and principle to represent us.  If everyone who sees these words invests at least $10, the result will stagger the status quo.  So, I urge you to contribute generously.  Those who crave power will not go quietly.  Let’s push them out, kicking and screaming.
